{travel} touring seattle

We went to the top of the Space Needle like good little tourists. This is not recommended. Especially if you have been to the top of the Eiffel Tower before. Or even on the roof deck of a tall building in NYC. It is overly crowded and cost $56.00 for all of us to get up there. Say whaaa? It was a gorgeous day and we did see all of Seattle but there were definitely other things we could have done for that amount of money that would have been much more worth it. After the Space Needle we went to the Seattle Art Museum's Statue Garden. AKA Modern Art Garden. I am obviously not cool enough to understand. (See below.) After the modern art garden we went to lunch at a place one of the employees recommended to us. It was a short walk away and SO SO SO good. If you are ever in Seattle I completely recommend going to The Boat Street Cafe and Kitchen. The photo above is what I ordered for lunch - Chicken Confit with a Summer Corn Pudding. yum yum yum.

If you are ever in Seattle you must, must, must do the Pike's Place Tour with Seattle Bites. Probably one of the best guided tours I've ever been on. And I've been on many, many guided tours. Not only was the food fabulous but the tour guide tells you a detailed (sometimes funny, sometimes scandalous, sometimes sad) history of the market as well.

First Stop: Taste SAM
Bite: Salmon Flatbread

Second Stop: Crepe de France
Bite: Nutella, Banana, and Almond Crepe

Third Stop: I <3 NY Deli
Bite: Pastrami Sandwich with Potato Knish and NY Dr. Brown Celery Soda

Fourth Stop: Pike's Place Corner Market
Bite: Samples of fruit

Fifth Stop: Pike's Place Chowder
Bite: Award-Winning/Nation's-Best Clam Chowder

Sixth Stop: Uli's Famous Sausage
Bite: Chicken Italian Sausage and Sauerkraut

Seventh Stop: Pure Food Fish Market
Bite: Smoked Salmon and Candied Salmon

Eighth Stop: Saffron Spice
Bite: Chicken Tikki Masala with Saffron Rice and a Mixed Berry Lassi
Side note: There is a little glimpse of our tour guide, Kristen. She was fabulous. People on Trip Advisor love her too.

Ready to go to Seattle now? I really, really wish that I had something like Pike's Place Market near me.

Later that night we ate dinner at Elliot's Oyster House.

I'm not sure how we fit any more food into our stomachs after our tour buuut we did.
It was delicious. Go there too.

It was also my Nana's 82nd birthday. :)
Hopefully I look that fabulous when I'm 82.

I had a blast exploring Seattle. It is a beautiful city filled to the brim with foodie-loving galore.

Can't wait until I can go back.
