Cooking is my stress relief.
No matter what crazy situation is going on around me, or how stressed out I am from school, friends, work, or anything else, I know I can step into the kitchen and it will be okay. There is just something so comforting to know that if you put oil in a pan, heat it up, and put onions in it that they will be caramelized ten minutes later. That if you stick tomatoes, garlic, onions, and basil in a pot and stick it over medium heat, pasta sauce will be made. I love that it is completely acceptable to use wine while cooking (sometimes it even gets added into the food!) and that if I ever feel homesick I can make my mom or dad’s specialty dishes and feel like I’m home again. What I love most of all is the instant family made while sitting around a dinner table, laughing, talking, and eating the food you just prepared.
Cooking is simply happiness.

Side note: Can someone design a dress for me that looks exactly like the above photo?
I googled "backless little black dress" and this is all that appeared:

ReplyDeleteAw I love this!! I know exactly what you mean, and I love that quote! Cooking has become my little creative outlet and it's just so much fun. I never cooked in college but in the past year I've gained such an appreciation for it!
ReplyDeleteThis is so great! I love cooking.. and you're right it's such a stress reliever. And I love what your google search turned up... oh my! Hahah :)
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about cooking. I also tend to bake a lot when I am stressed so exam week is filled with funfetti cupcakes, muffins, banana bread, cookies, etc.
